Use this adapter to replace your factory radio while being able to retain certain factory features that would have been lost when the factory radio is replaced.

Using this interface will enable factory features such as rear seat entertainment, rear seat controls, and the THXll amplifier when the original radio is removed. Other features of the C2R-FRD1 include data bus driven retained accessory power (RAP), vehicle speed sensor (VSS) output, illumination, reverse output, parking brake output and a 5 volt regulated amp turn on for factory installed subwoofers.

Compatible with THX, SONY, Shaker and Audiophile sound systems in applicable vehicles.

Important Notes:

When installing the C2R-FRD1 into 2009 Ford/Lincoln/Mercury vehicles that are equipped with the mid-line amplifier (NOT the Sony or THX system), you MUST follow a tech brief to turn the amplifier on.

Rear seat entertainment (RSE) audio is not retained through the speakers in Ford/Lincoln/Mercury vehicles that are equipped with the Microsoft SYNC system. The RSE will power up, operate normally and pass audio through the IR headphones, however the audio can not be passed through the aftermarket radio.

Does not retain SYNC

2008 F-250/350/450: Not compatible with model trim XL (fleet vehicles). These vehicles do not have the necessary CAN bus signals

2006-2007 Ford Freestyle: Does not retain RSE

2006 Lincoln Zephyr: Does not retain the THX amplifier

Replacement radio has to have an aux input for some functions to work through the system.

No fading front to rear and DSP set to 'all'.

Works with or without factory amplified systems.
